How Do I Access the Full-Text of Journal Articles?

Get to a Specific Article Quickly

Use our journal list to quickly find a specific article, on or off campus.

To find an article from any web browser:

  1. Go to the library website:
  2. In the search box on the middle of that page, enter the title of the journal, avoiding abbreviations (i.e. search New England Journal of Medicine, not NEJM) for best results.
  3. Click on the link with the date range that you need.
  4. If you are off campus, at this point you will be asked to provide your IT credentials. Some journals require your Penn State Access ID, some require your ePass.
  5. You are now at the journal website.  Navigate to the year, volume, and page number you need.

Some journals have embargoes.  This means that that articles published in that journal will only be available after the date range of the embargo (e.g. 3 months, 1 year, etc.) has passed.  If you need an article that falls within an embargoed date range for a journal title, you can request it using our Interlibrary Loan service
