Most clinical information tools offer apps for several different platforms. Look for a "mobile" link on the interface of the information resources below:
- ACP Smart Medicine
Clinically-organized summaries for 3,200+ topics updated daily.
Mobile-optimized version includes the "Quick Reference" pocket cards from Users' Guides to the Medical Literature and the "Make the Diagnosis" sections from The Rational Clinical Examination available here http://m.jamaevidence.com.medjournal.hmc.psu.edu:2048
To access the mobile site, you must log in using a personal profile name and password created at http://www.jamaevidence.com
. If you have not created such a profile, please visit the site on a nonmobile browser, select the "My JAMAevidence" tab, and follow the directions for creation of a personal profile. Once complete, you may return to the mobile view and use that username and password to access the site.
- Micromedex Healthcare Series
Micromedex has a mobile-optimized version and also provides separate apps for its Drug Information, Drug Interaction, IV Compatibility, and NEOFAX Essentials products.
- Nursing Reference Center
To install the app, go to the bottom of the Nursing Reference Center main screen and click the "NRC iPhone/iPod Touch Application" link.
***The authentication link in the email message will only work in the native email app on iOS Devices. The Outlook web client and other email apps will block the authentication key link. The link can also be copied and pasted to the address bar in Safari, but this must be done outside of the Outlook web client***
- United States Preventive Services Task Force ePSS app
Quick access to lists of recommended--and not recommended--preventive services according to age, sex, and other px variables.
Register to have access to UpToDate from any web browser and on up to two mobile devices. You must register from within the Penn State Hershey network in order to gain access to the mobile apps, and accrue CME credits. To register, complete all fields and click “Submit Registration.” This is a onetime registration. Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation from UpToDate.
Once the mobile app has downloaded on your device, please use the UpToDate username and password you created during the registration process to log in.
30 Day Re-verification Required: In-application & email messaging will inform you of the need to verify affiliation with your organization. Complete verification by logging in to UpToDate from a Penn State Hershey network computer at least once every 30 days.
