About This Guide

This guide was developed for the Department of Orthopaedics to have easy access to relevant library and other resources. As members of the Penn State Community, you have access to countless resources through the Harrell Health Sciences Library as well as the Penn State University Libraries System as a whole. If you have any recommendations for this guide, or if you need assistance with the library website or library resources, please contact Marie Cirelli, who is the departmental liaison.

All library resources are available on or off campus. For off campus use, a Penn State Access ID is required as well as a Hershey ePass.

  • The Hershey ePass is used for signing on to the Hershey campus network, Outlook e-mail, and some library resources including UpToDate.
  • The Penn State Access ID is used to access most library databases, e-books and journals, interlibrary loan system, CATS IRB system, and Penn State's Conflict of Interest System. Use it every time you see the thumbprint image (at left).
  • Ask your department for assistance in obtaining these passwords, or contact helpdesk at 717-531-6281.
