Point of Care (EBM) Tools

To set up a Practice Changing Update Alert:
1) Access Dynamed by using the link above. If off campus, authenticate using your Hershey ePass.
2) Click in the checkbox next to "Practice changing updates only" in the upper right.
3) If desired, select a specialty, i.e. "geriatrics," from the drop-down menu.
4) Click the ringing bell icon at the upper right and enter your email address and select the frequency with which you wish to receive alerts.
5) Click "create alert." To select additional specialties, repeat this process. You will begin receiving practice changing updates from Dynamed.
6) Each email contains a "cancel" link so that you can cancel these alerts at any time.

How to set up:
1) Access Dynamed using the link above. Off campus use requires authentication with Hershey ePass.
2) Do a search to find the topic of interest.
3) When search results of interest are displayed, click the ringing bell icon at the right. Select the desired frequency of alerts, enter your email address, and click "create alert." The process can be repeated for as many topics as you wish.
You will begin receiving topic alerts which can be canceled at any time using the link embedded in each email.

Here's how to set up Dynamed Specialty Alerts:
1) Access Dynamed by using the link above. If off campus, authenticate using your Hershey ePass.
2) Click "Recent Updates" in the blue bar at the top left. This results in a list of all recent changes to Dynamed medical topics.
3) Select one specialty of interest, i.e. "Surgery and Procedures," from the drop-down menu.
4) Click the ringing bell icon at the right and in the pop-up box enter your email address and the alert frequency desired, then click "create alert."
5) Additional specialty alerts can be configured by repeating this process. You will now begin to receive emails from Dynamed whenever evidence-based information changes in the specialty/ies you selected.
