This January, Ben Hoover, MLIS, joined the Harrell HSL staff as Circulation Supervisor.  Ben received his Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011.

Through his management of circulation services, Ben's responsibilities include ensuring that the library is opened and closed on schedule, hiring, training and scheduling circulation staff, updating and revising circulation policies and procedures for Harrell HSL as well as becoming knowledgeable of those for University Libraries and Penn State Hershey, and ensuring the confidentiality of library user information.  He also manages the library display cases, printing and copying services,  the reserve collection, the distribution of user IDs and passwords,  and is the library safety officer.  He has already begun streamlining policies to improve customer service and has reorganized the reserve book collection to improve access to the collection.
